Updated October 2026.

This is a blank working table, not a forecast and not financial advice. A search of the industry equipment directory on 14 October 2026 for packaging machine speeds returned vendor marketing pages. One visible title claimed a swab packing machine speed. That claim is not used here. No machine model is selected.

Use one hour that the plant defines. In this hypothetical hour the station attempts 1,200 packs and rejects 40. Good output for that hour is attempted minus rejected, which is 1,160 packs, only if the plant’s counting rules match those two definitions. If a reject is counted twice, or if an attempted pack is a case rather than a primary pack, the subtraction is a different quantity. Write the unit next to the count before anyone multiplies it by a cost.

Quantity This example Your plant
Attempted packs in one defined hour 1,200, hypothetical
Rejected packs in that hour 40, hypothetical
Good output 1,160, if the two rows use the same unit
Operators at the station 2, hypothetical
Minutes the station is stopped for the change blank

The last row is blank on purpose. A stop of ten minutes and a stop of ten hours are different projects, and this page does not know which one a plant faces.

Hypothetical counts. They are not a machine rating.

Use the phased packaging line automation roadmap to turn these inputs into a sequence of measured constraints, bounded trials and capital release decisions.

Cost factors to name, each with the amount left blank: equipment, installation, validation, training, maintenance, spare parts, utilities, floor space, and the output lost while the change is made. A factor without a unit is not ready to add to another factor. Labour hours and kilowatt-hours are not the same unit. Do not add them until each has a price from the plant’s own source, and do not put that price on this website. Once the plant collects vendor quotes and contractor estimates for these categories, structure them into our 8-bucket manufacturing equipment CapEx budget template to calculate Total Installed Cost, AACE contingency reserves, ASC 360 capitalization splits, and discounted cash-flow hurdle metrics.

Cost factors to name. Prices stay blank.

This page does not compute a payback period, a rate of return, or a recommended budget. Those calculations need the plant’s prices, its tax position and its cost of capital, none of which are known here. The NIST MEP page read on the same day describes a public programme for manufacturers. It does not publish a packaging-line price, and it is not used as one.

No currency, no payback and no named model.
